Beast of the Blacks 10, 20 and 40 Mile Trail Running Challenge
Saturday 8th March 2025
The Beast of the Blacks 10, 20 and 40 is a great challenge amongst some spectacular, harsh but stimulating trails within the Majestic Black Mountains of Wales. Attracting runners from the elite to the beginner you will not be disappointed by this event. The event will be marked with the added support of marshals. Generous cut off times of 5 hrs for the 10 mile, 8 hours for the 20 mile route and 16 hours for the 40 mile route will ensure that you can tame the beast. The 40 mile event will be a reverse of the 20 mile loop so whatever scenery you miss on the first lap, you can capture on the second lap.
Starting near the village of Llanbedr deep in the heart of the mountains you will climb directly onto the Black Mountains. Greeted with outstanding views that will follow you around this beautiful route whilst taking in forest trails, mountain tops, river crossings and ancient churches. Red kites will be your companions besides an abundance of wildlife. Spring into Spring and enjoy the Mountains at their very best.
This is a canicross friendly event. Dogs must be at least 12 months of age, fit to run and kept on the lead at all times. Owners take full responsibility for their dogs both at headquarters and on the route. Unfortunately, due to the added benefit of having a bit of extra ‘pull’ from your four-legged friend, we cannot allocate trophies to any canicross participants.
We look forward to seeing you there!
