Boy do we have an exciting change for this year’s TT!!

After a few years of seeing our runners tackle Table Mountain and Pen Cerrig-calch in the heart of the Welsh Black Mountains, and the course record of 10 laps unbeaten, we are moving this year’s event to another iconic mountain nearby.

Mynydd Troed is our new location. You will experience a few false summits before reaching the peak, which gives you incredible 360 degree views of not only the Black Mountains but the Brecon Beacons too, with the beautiful Llangorse Lake nestled deep in the valley.

The course route is a loop, and whilst the distance is shorter than in previous years, the elevation will make you understand why! :)

We are also bringing a new format into the mix. The first lap will go up and then return from a clockwise direction. After that, it’s up to you which direction you choose to take.

The 10 hour 3.2-mile strenuous and technical loop race is a test of endurance and determination. This is only for the brave!

New course means new record to be set. Will that be you?!

This event is open to teams of 4, pairs and solo entrants.

Starting at the base of the notorious Mynydd Troed, a harsh and brutal climb takes you to the summit (eventually:)). The second part of the route, you will find runnable sections, however be prepared for some very technical and steep downhills, before you are blessed with some open common trails.

This order is reversed should you decide to go anti-clockwise at any point.

There are two clip stations en route, one at the trig point and the second at the base of the mountain. You will have a laminated card to clip, which will confirm that you have completed each lap.

The route is fully marked.

A strict 10 hour cut off will be in place- any participant that does not reach base before the final horn will not have that loop recorded, this only adds to the challenge to ensure you are fast enough to beat that horn!

Team entries will be a collective number of loops, even if a team player drops out. Last man standing approach - Teams must be named.

Strict rules will apply - any runner whom the medics deem unable to carry on will only continue at their own risk. The event organisers will take no responsibility for such actions.

Come along and Conquer the Mountain.

Refuel Zone

Our Refuel Zone will be stationed at the Start/Finish line. It will be well-stocked so you’ll be properly fuelled throughout the day. We cater for all dietary requirements including vegan. At the Refuel Zone, you can expect to be met with nuts, bananas, sweeties, biscuits, crisps, electrolytes, coke, squash, water and if you’re very lucky, some homemade cake!

There will be space in headquarters for you to leave a drop bag. You can access this drop bag anytime throughout the day. We recommend putting in bits like spare socks, your favourite treats, a spare change of clothes - things that will pick you up when you’re having a hard time. All bags are left at the participants own risk. You will also have easy access to your car if you’d prefer to leave spare kit in there.

Cut Off Times

This is a 10 hour endurance challenge. The horn will sound at 10 hours on the dot (6pm) - if you are still out on the course, the lap you are on will NOT be recorded.

Support Crews

Support Crews are welcome at headquarters but not out on the route. We will try to ensure that there is enough space for everyone, however we have to prioritise our participants. Food in the Refuel Zone is strictly for entrants only. We kindly ask the support crews to vacate the Refuel Zone when their participant is out on the course. You will be allowed to assist them inside the Refuel Zone if they need it, but we may ask you to step outside if it is getting too crowded and other participants cannot easily access it.
